Copperpod welcomes Sahil Mehta to the Operations Team

New York, NY: On 14th February, 2022, Copperpod IP announced that Sahil Mehta will be joining the company as a Consultant. The team at Copperpod IP is excited to welcome Sahil in the operations team

Sahil will be bringing his experience and knowledge in  Energy and InfrastructureArtificial Intelligence, Forecasting and Control Algorithms, to Copperpod IP.

During his Master’s, he wrote a thesis on Renewable Energy forecasting from a local microgrid’s planning perspective. While calculating the total energy demand, consumption, and generation, renewable energy forecasting plays a significant role. It allows the microgrid operator to accurately schedule the available resources and load demand for enhanced system stability. The thesis focused on the forecasting of solar energy dependent on the number of parameters like wind speed, temperature, time of day, etc., using the Artificial intelligence-based Fuzzy Logic approach and Analytical Multi-linear regression approach. This was helpful in planning, designing, and setting up a virtual microgrid in Patiala. 

Sahil's Ph.D. thesis is based on developing an adaptive and intelligent controller for the stability enhancement of a hybrid microgrid system. This research area includes integrating renewable energy sources explicitly, like solar, wind, etc., with storage devices like batteries in the presence of various power electronics components/modules. These modules include converters, inverters, etc. Along with this, the other objective of his work is focused on the energy management of residential microgrid systems employing the AI-based controller. In addition to this, his research also focuses on hardware implementation and realization of AI-based controllers for laboratory-level microgrid systems.
